After breakfast, Daaji sat with Sahaj in the road cleaning machine and spent almost an hour cleaning the roads of Kanha Shanti Vanam. On his way back home, he met the seekers who were waiting for him near Gokul Point.

Daaji began his day with a walk, after which he took time to respond to his e-mails.

At 7:45 am, he met up with Sudhir Marwaha and discussed construction activities.

From 10:30 am onward, Daaji was busy meeting various department heads. He met up with Satyan to discuss activities related to water preservation; Vineet Ranawat to discuss certain events at Kanha, including the Bhandara in July; Deepika and Rahul regarding civil work.

Thereafter, he left for his rounds of Kanha and spent more than an hour going around the premises. He was joined by Sudhir Marwaha, Vineet Ranawat, and other department heads along the way.

In the evening around 6 pm, Daaji met a few seekers in his office and conducted meditation. Afterward, he spoke at length on the subject of purity.

Daaji emphasized the relevance of giving the right suggestions at the time of cleaning. He clarified that while suggesting what is leaving during the Cleaning, we must use the word ‘impurities’ instead of ‘complexities’. He said, “So, purity comes first as a result. Simplicity is a quality we get out of purity. If you are pure, you are bound to be simple. But the reverse is not true. You may be simple, but absolutely impure. A pure heart is a fertile ground for goodness.”

Speaking about the relevance of Cleaning, Daaji explained, “Many spiritual teachers say that meditation leads to heightened awareness and clarity of mind, and that is considered to be some progress. While this may be true, is it really enough? Meditation enhances the qualities already within us. In that case, with heightened awareness and a clear mind, would a thief not become a better thief?

“For true spiritual progress, in addition to meditation, there is a need to purify our hearts and minds of all impurities. Purity gives birth to many other things that are good. For example, you can be pure and at the same time you can be simple. But you can be simple and still impure. So being simple is not enough. Purity is the foundation for all that is good. Purity weaves destiny.”

The session was enlightening.

Later in the night around 10 pm, Daaji spent some time reading literature where the author had written in length about the human mind. While in context it made perfect sense, for a beginner it could have easily created a wrong impression about the mind, its potential and limitations.

Daaji remarked, “People with an elevated consciousness have nothing to worry about when they read something. They are able to differentiate what is good from what is not. They are not easily conditioned by books, because they already have a better understanding. Similarly, we have a better understanding of life when we are not influenced by samskaras, when our consciousness is pure.”

The long day finally came to a closure.
